The 1st Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada, Bishop Mina was born on 30 September 1952 in the city of Cairo in Egypt. He studied at the University of Alberta, where he received a degree in accounting in 1978. In 1980, he returned to Egypt where he joined the Monastery of Saint Mina in Mariout and was ordained priest in 2003. He was called to serve as a priest in Ireland where he served for 5 years and built Saint Mina’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Cahir, Munster, Ireland.
On 6 June 2009, he was consecrated as a general bishop by Pope Shenouda III, was assigned to serve as a general bishop over the churches of Old Cairo, Manyal and Fom El-Khalig, in Cairo.
On March 10, 2013 His Grace was delegated by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II as the Diocesan Bishop of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada. His Holiness was enthroned in Mississauga on April 7, 2013 and in Vancouver on April 13, 2013.
