Fr Luke Mitry was born in 1956 in the city of Cairo in Egypt. He studied at the University of Helwan, where he received a degree in architecture in 1979. He is the Vice-President, and acting President (in the absence of HG Bishop Mina) of the Board of Deacons.  He was ordained priest in November of 2008 and called to serve at the Virgin Mary & St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church in Mississauga.  He received his Theology Seminary Diploma in 2010, and became the priest and shepherd of St. Peter & St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church in September 2013.
