St George was a commander in the army who defended the Christians and publicly confessed the Lord Christ to the King.

He tore up the edict of the Emperor against the Christians.

He refused all earthly promises and stood firm in his loyalty to Christ. The Lord strengthened him and healed all of his wounds.

He performed many miracles during his torture through his prayers to God such as raising people from the dead and healing the sick.
