Story

  • One of the seventy Apostles and four Evangelists.

  • Preached the Gospel in regions like Judea, Rome, and especially Egypt.

  • Founder of the Coptic Church in Egypt.

  • Converted many, including Anianos, who became the first bishop of Alexandria.

  • Established the famous School of Alexandria and wrote a liturgy.

  • Martyred in Alexandria ~68 AD.
