Story

  • Photini = The enlightened one

  • St. Photini is the Samaritan woman in (John 4) who encountered Jesus at Jacob’s well.

  • Christ offered her the “living water of eternal life”. She became a passionate evangelist, sharing the good news with the whole village.

  • According to church tradition, on the day of Pentecost, the Samaritan woman and her five sisters were baptized. She became a brave missionary and she got martyred in the end.
