St. Pishoy was born in 320 AD in Egypt and lived a life of asceticism and devotion.

St. Pishoy is best known for washing Christ’s feet and carrying Him unknowingly. Out of deep humility, he would wash the feet of strangers without looking at their faces. One day, Christ appeared to him as a traveler, and the Saint humbly washed His feet, only realizing it was the Lord when he saw the crucifixion scars.

Out of compassion, St. Pishoy carried an elderly man on the road, later realizing it was the Lord Jesus. Christ promised that his pure and disciplined body would not decay. To this day, it remains incorrupt without preservation.

St. Pishoy fought heresy, guiding monks back to the true faith.
